Firm News | Law Offices of Frye & Vazquez, P.L. https://www.fryelawmiami.com Miami Estate Planning Law Attorney | Probate Lawyer Thu, 04 Jun 2020 00:48:15 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.3.1 Estate Planning in the time of corona https://www.fryelawmiami.com/blog/2020/06/estate-planning-in-the-time-of-corona/ Wed, 03 Jun 2020 16:09:05 +0000 https://1543540-fork.findlaw6.flsitebuilder.com/?p=47188 Amid this pandemic, as we are barraged with tragic videos and news reports, many Americans are anxious about what would happen should they get sick and be unable to make informed decisions or manage their financial and legal affairs. Some may have no documents in place, or have outdated ones with incorrect beneficiary/guardian/power of attorney designations. Others may never have completed their planning due to indecisiveness around certain difficult decisions.

We recommend that completing your estate planning be moved to the top of that annoying, back-of-your-mind to-do list. Our current situation highlights the importance of having revocable trusts or wills, powers of attorney, health care surrogates, and living wills in place and up to date. For those who have been stymied by difficult decisions such as selecting guardians, powers of attorney, and/or how to treat heirs/beneficiaries, seek guidance. For those hesitant to leave their homes, all aspects of a comprehensive estate plan can be completed remotely. Now is the time to wrap up this planning, giving you one less (huge) thing to fret about and, allowing you to move on to the next to-do item about which you have been procrastinating.

Our New Normal: Law Offices of Frye & Vazquez, P.L. Update https://www.fryelawmiami.com/blog/2020/06/our-new-normal-law-offices-of-frye-vazquez-p-l-update/ Mon, 01 Jun 2020 05:48:07 +0000 https://1543540-fork.findlaw6.flsitebuilder.com/?p=47159 As Miami-Dade County prepares to re-open non-essential businesses over the next few weeks, we wanted to let you know that effective today, 6/1/20, we will be available for non-emergency, in-person meetings once again. While full servicing via teleconferencing will always be available for those more comfortable with that option, we look forward to welcoming you back to our offices in person.

To ensure maximal safety for our valued clients and for our team, our “new normal” for office visits, as per the guidelines, will include these already operational changes:

  • All persons (clients, team members, and service providers) wishing to enter the offices will have their temperatures taken, prior to gaining admittance.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for use at the same time.
  • Masks/face coverings will always be worn. No one can be admitted to the office without one.
  • We ask that clients bring their own pens.
  • Social distancing (and therefore no handshakes or hugs) will always be observed.
  • Meeting size will be limited to ensure that adequate spacing can be provided. Our conference room is large enough that we can remain at least 12 feet apart as we meet with you.
  • Surfaces will be wiped down following every meeting.
  • We will be happy to provide you with an assortment of sealed beverages and snacks, but the signature coffee drinks we create to delight you will be on hold until further notice.

We will continue to be vigilant and make any changes to our protocols as needed and, hopefully, getting back to our old normal as soon as possible. Please take care, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We all look forward to seeing you in person again soon.
